I don’t play golf. But I’ve worked in its $2.6 Billion equipment industry for one of the sport’s largest brands. Using a wide range of marketing platforms, we were able to help TaylorMade add to this by posting double-digit sales increases. And I got to live in sunny San Diego.

We created the ‘Raise Your Game’ Facebook app that featured legendary professional golf instructor Hank Haney. Pretty cool for the time, the app analyzed your swing then gave customized training videos. We even had a ‘talk smack to your friends’ feature.

I always got a kick out of the term ‘belly putter.’ Turns out only a few years after TaylorMade launched them, the USGA banned them. Apparently, the gut was an advantage.
When it comes to golf club marketing, distance is king. Working on the product debut for the R11s was no different. To sweeten the deal, we launched it on Valentine’s Day.

For the golfer that’s good enough, having the right golf ball is extremely important. So important that typically you’re fitted for them like clubs. I did not know this. But TaylorMade created a five-layer ball for every type of golfer.
